Follow up on people who started but never finished
Catch abandoned forms and send a gentle nudge with a link back to where they left off.
People start forms and get distracted. If they got far enough to give you an email address, that is a lead you already have — it just needs a nudge.
Setting it up
- 1Create an automation and choose the abandoned-form trigger.
- 2Pick the form it watches.
- 3Set how long to wait before someone counts as abandoned — long enough that they have genuinely gone, usually an hour or a day.
- 4Add an email step. Keep it short and give them a link straight back to the form.
Important
Only partial responses that captured an email address can be followed up, for the obvious reason. Ask for the email early in the form if this matters to you.
Pro tip
One nudge is a service. Three is spam. If you want a second attempt, add a Wait step and a Branch that checks whether they have since submitted.
