Understanding the drag-and-drop builder
Learn how to add, reorder, and configure form elements using the visual builder canvas.
The Spiceform builder uses a vertical canvas layout where each form element occupies a full row. The left sidebar contains all available field types grouped into categories, and the right sidebar shows properties for the currently selected element.
Adding elements
- 1Open the left sidebar (the "+" panel) to see all field types grouped by category: Input Fields, Choice Fields, Advanced, and more.
- 2Drag any element from the sidebar and drop it onto the canvas at the desired position. A blue insertion line shows you exactly where the element will land.
- 3Alternatively, click an element to append it to the end of the form.
Reordering elements
Click and hold any element on the canvas, then drag it up or down to reorder. The other elements will shift to make room. Release to drop it in the new position.
Configuring elements
Click any element to select it. The Properties sidebar on the right will show all configurable options: title, description, placeholder text, required toggle, validation rules, and field-specific settings like min/max values for number fields or options for multiple-choice questions.
Use Ctrl+Z (or ⌘+Z on Mac) to undo any change. The builder supports a full undo/redo history so you can experiment freely.
