Two ways to connect your apps
The Connect tab sends every response. An automation step sends the ones you choose, when you choose. Same accounts either way.
There are two places your apps show up in Spiceform, and they are for two different jobs.
The Connect tab — everything, straight through
Open a form, go to Connect, and switch on HubSpot or Slack or Google Sheets. From then on every response goes there, immediately, with no conditions. It takes about a minute to set up and it is the right answer for "I want all of this in my CRM".
An automation step — some of them, on your terms
The same apps are also available as steps inside an automation. That is what you want as soon as the sentence gets longer than "everything goes there":
- •Only leads over a certain size go to Salesforce.
- •Post to Slack, but only for the enterprise branch.
- •Wait two days, and only then add them to Mailchimp — if they have not already replied.
- •Ask someone to approve it first.
- •If it fails, tell me, rather than losing it quietly.
One connection, both places
You connect an account once. An automation step uses the same connected account as the Connect tab, so there is nothing to set up twice and nothing to keep in sync. Turning a form's Connect switch off does not disturb an automation that uses the same app.
If you have both switched on for the same app and the same form, it happens twice — once from the Connect tab and once from the automation. Pick one per app per form.
Start in the Connect tab. Move to an automation step the first time you find yourself wishing it were conditional.
