Saving uploaded files to Google Drive
Copy every response's uploaded files — and, if you like, a PDF of the answers — into a folder of its own in your Google Drive.
The Google Drive integration copies the files people upload to your form into your own Google Drive. Each response gets a folder of its own inside a folder you choose, named after the respondent or the date, so a portfolio, a resume or a set of photos arrives organised and ready to share with your team. It is available on every plan.
Connecting Google Drive
- 1Open the form in the builder and go to the Connect tab.
- 2Click "Connect" on the Google Drive card and sign in with your Google account.
- 3Choose the folder responses should go into. It can be any folder in My Drive or a shared drive.
How each response is saved
- •A new folder is created for every completed response, inside the folder you chose.
- •Every file the respondent uploaded is copied into it, including all of them when a question accepts more than one file.
- •Turn on "Save the response as a PDF too" to add a PDF of all the answers to the same folder.
- •Files usually arrive within a couple of minutes. A file still uploading when the form was submitted is copied once it finishes.
Naming the folders
Open the settings (gear icon) on the Google Drive card. By default folders are named with the date and a short response number. Pick a question — usually the respondent's name — to name each folder after its answer, and choose whether to add the submission date.
If something goes wrong
The card's settings show the most recent deliveries. If Google stops accepting the connection, or the folder is deleted or no longer shared with you, the card says so and offers a Reconnect button; responses are retried automatically for a while, so reconnecting soon means nothing is lost.
Spiceform can only see the folder you pick and the files it creates there — never the rest of your Drive.
Note: responses received after you exceed your plan's monthly response limit are not delivered to integrations until the limit resets or you upgrade, and files stored beyond your plan's storage are not copied.
